Photo Shoot With Jamie

Normally I post my most recent photo shoots, but this time I'm writing about one I had in December with model Jamie. I first worked with Jamie early last year and it took most of the year before we could arrange our schedules for another shoot. Thankfully we finally worked it out!

Now that I've started creating videos from many of my shoots, I decided to go back and create one from this shoot. I think you'll see why when you watch it.

Jamie is a wonderfully adept, talented model. She poses exceptionally well; very creatively. She always seems to know what I have in mind; sometimes before I suggest it. It doesn't hurt that she has this bubbly, outgoing personality to go with the great look! It makes the shoot fun rather than work. She is one of those models you want to test with again and again! And I will. :-)

Let's take a look at a couple of the photos from her shoot and the video I made from it.

The setup for these shots was my basic high key setup - 2 studio lights on the background set 1.5 stops brighter than the light falling on the model, a single key light with a beauty dish, and a hair light. This time I added a light to the left of Jamie with a 12"x36" strip box to add some highlights and definition to her side. For the second shot, I decreased the power of the background lights slightly to make the screen a little more gray.

This shot was made with the exact same setup as above. However, I added the vignetting in post processing to bring even more focus on Jamie.

I like to mix things up for more looks. It gives the model and me more choices for our portfolios. This time I simply put a white piece of cloth on top of an ottoman and had Jamie lay on top of it. I thought this set off her beautiful skin tone quite well. You should see her in the summer when she is tan! Hmm, I guess that's going to be another shoot this summer! (Like I needed an excuse! Heh.)

OK, on to the video I put together from this shoot. Enjoy!

As always, comments, questions, and ideas for future posts are welcome. Take care!
